Hi, I’m Justina
I live in Edinburgh with my partner and our rescue dog, Martha, who is sweet and wonderfully stubborn. Edinburgh is a place I proudly call home, and I love walking through its streets and green spaces with Martha – it’s a chance to clear my mind, slow down, and enjoy the silly things Martha gets up to.
I find joy in simple, grounding rhythms – the kinds of experiences that bring me back to myself. Two that hold an important place in my life are strength training and knitting. Strength training helps me feel strong, connected, and steady in my body; it’s a space where I can slow down, focus, and be fully present. Knitting offers a different kind of rhythm and stillness – the gentle repetition and creativity bring calm and balance. I often knit for others, finding quiet satisfaction in creating something with care and intention.
I grew up going on long walks with my mum, often with dogs in tow. Those walks were filled with conversation and moments of connection, and they taught me how valuable it can be to have a space where you feel supported, free to offload, and to hear yourself again. These experiences have shaped how I practice counselling, and my connection with nature continues to ground and influence the way I work.
Who I am as a person is deeply rooted in inclusivity and respect. I pay close attention to how our lives are shaped not only by personal histories but also by the wider social contexts we live in, including privilege, inequality, and discrimination. I hold these realities with care, while also meeting people with warmth, curiosity, and empathy. Those who know me often describe me as calm and grounding, someone who brings steadiness and openness into relationships.
In my work as a counsellor, these qualities naturally shape the space I offer. My presence, combined with a deep respect for your individuality, creates a safe environment where you can slow down, reconnect with yourself, and feel truly seen. Counselling with me is not only about working through pain or difficulty but also about building a relationship where trust, understanding, and healing can grow.
